Mr Waleed Tantawy is a consultant ophthalmologist. He has become world renowned for his skills and groundbreaking work in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of highly complex eye diseases specially complex cataract surgeries.
He serves as a trainer in the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of London. He obtained both his medical bachelor and Master’s Degree in ophthalmology in Egypt, a diploma in Ophthalmology at Cambridge University and a fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.
Mr Tantawy is one of the busiest cataract surgeons in the United Kingdom and has performed over 10.000 cataract surgeries. He has been invited to perform surgeries in 3 continents across the globe. He is one of the few Ophthalmologists in the U.K who completed three fellowships, one of which was at the world renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. He has over 18 years of ophthalmology experience.
In addition to his practice in the UK, Mr Tantawy is passionate about charity work and fighting blindness in the less fortunate countries worldwide.
